I have been looking for a replacement engine for my 2000 civic ex. I was told from a reliable source that my engine, D16y8, and maybe others, were manufactored with different combos of the knock sensor and crankshaft position sensor; none, both, or either one. A car will not run, or run properly, if it is replaced with an engine that has a different combination. WHAT THE **** IS UP WITH THAT?!?!?!?! Can anyone validate this?

 

the d16y8 does have a knock sensor and any 96 and up motor has a knock sensor.

just grab any d16y8 motor and drop it in, they are easy to find
