Default Defrost air in floor mode

Greetings, it's gotten to where I've been using the heater of my '05 coupe here in sunny Florida, and I noticed I get annoying air up in my face from the defroster vents when I have the unit in the floor-only position (when you're 6'2" believe me, it's annoying). Is this normal behavior or is my mode control motor acting up? Thanks for the inputs!

Most likely

Did you check for codes from the climate control panel?
