Dies upon start then wont fire up
OK so this has happened a few times in the past but it was basically wasn't much at the time. I turn the car over, it's fires up, but upon imediate release of the key it dies, i go to turn it over again, and it wont fire... let it sit 30 seconds or so, fire it up and it runs fine.
today however, i pulled in to get gas. i was fairly low, but still above the E line. Car was running fine, pull in, pump $10 and then go to fire it up, it fires.... dies upon release of the key. turn it over again, same thing. tried for a good 5 minutes to get it to turn over. it cranks and cranks and cranks. but nothing. after about 5 minutes of this it finally turns over and runs fine...
my imedate thoughts are... Dizzy, or Fule pump? opinions? thoughts?.... anything?... someone wanna give me a B series?

Everything and anything else works fine electically, and the battery is new, the alternator isn't that old as well. so i know it's not electrical, and if it is it spark electrical
When it happens (that the car will crank but won't start) have someone check if the distributor is firing. Just remove one of the spark plug wire and ground it on the engine with a screwdriver while cranking. (make sure you are grounded good
If it fires, you'll know it's not antitheft or keyswitch etc like the guy said.

This same thing happened on my 92 accord. It seemed to happen most often when it was hot outside (I live in Phoenix, so all summer pretty much.) The problem wasn't the engine not "turning over," but rather a crank but no start. It would crank fine whenever the key was turned, but it wouldn't start no matter how long you held it. Then a few minutes later it would start like it never even happened. I put up with it for over two years of certified techs, friends, family, that guy down the street, etc. telling me they had no clue as to why it was doing it. Honda even went as far as to tell me the vehicle had no problem whatsoever, even though the car did it right in front of their service manager, in their service lane. Anyhow, I sold the car after much searching. I replaced all ignition componets, borrowed a "known good" distributor with all the internal goods as well as a "known good" ecu. Replaced fuel filter, pump and main relay without ever nixing the issue. I wish you luck, and do update if you ever figure out what was the cause.
Edited title to fix my stupidity lol. i meant it wont fire up, but it does turn over, turns over strong, but yet it seems to be getting no spark or no fuel. My brother is picking it up today and testing it out, so we shall see
Have you checked to see which one you're not getting (spark/fuel)? That'll definitely be your starting point. Once you figure out which one you're not getting, it'll lead you towards what needs to be done to fix it.
How oldare your dizzy/ignitor/plugs/wires? Sounds like one of them isto blame. Does it sputter at all while driving, or are there any other issues (even if they seem unrelated)?

The thing with this issue is it is totally inconsistent, it has happened before only a hand full of times, and then doesn't occur again for months, the last time this happened was i think in April. and before that, i think December.
Pull your plugs and check em out, actually, just change em since it'll cost you $10 bucks (Thats like 15 wompum or whatever you Canadians use for currency
)
If you got the extra cash maybe do the wires too, just for good measure.
