Yup, i did it. Well, not really me, my girlfriend was filling up my car while i was inside getting coffee this afternoon before work. She filled it up with diesel[:@]! A mile later and the car was on the side of the road and not turning over. Found out she filled it up with diesel when i popped the hood and could smell that distinct scent. Should be around 700 to fix it up. fuel pump filters, spark plugs, cleaning the gas tank, fuel injectors and man hours. 700 abt right?

 

oh my god...that's why I never let my girlfriend EVER touch anything on my car but the door handles and the passenger area...

 

Yeah,I pretty much went crazy when I found out what had happened. She isnt talking to me after some of the things I said. She deserved it though, how stupid can you be?? The diesel nozzle doesnt even fit in the holder for the tank, she had to spray it in the hole. You would think she would realize something was wrong....

 

damn.....thank god the gas station i ALWAYS go to in my town has the diesel pump seperate from all the other pumps....lol, well then again ive never payed attention to gas stations and where the diesel pump is....are they all like that in Ohio or everywhere else?

 

DO NOT START your car again. have it towed to the car shop.

and $700 sounds about right.

Car is already at a repair shop, had it AAA'd. I did try to start it twice after it went off, hopefully I didnt F-up my cylinder walls

 

The mechanic siad I should change my fuel pump, but Im not so sur ethat I need to. I know I need to change the filters, but the pump shouldnt be damaged should it? He said if I dont get it replaced now, it may run finefor a bit but it will most likely go soon. im not sure if he is just trying to get a few bucks out of me.

 

if you tried to turn it over (start your car) with the diesel gasoline in your tank, then there's a good chance that you will need a new pump.

 

i made a couple calls to my shop today about a few things and asked about that for you. my mechanic said that $700 is right on.

let this be a lesson to you: get a girlfriend who actually READS labels at the gas station next time. lol.
