Default Distributor Assembly

Earlier today I had the CEL come on, I took over to the local autozone and had them pull the code P1361, TDC sensor. No problem, so I go to my trusty website, hondacivicforum.com and put in the code number, the general recommendation is to replace the distributor assembly because the TDC sensor is kind of built in. But I have a question about the word "assembly" when the assembly needs to be replaced, that means everything inside the distributor also?

Thanks in advance.

Specs: 97 DX Sedan
Manual 5-spd

You need the distributor housing. You can use the coil, ICM, rotor, cap, etc. from your old distributor if they are fine.

Thanks for the help RonJon, what can I expect to pay for the "Distributor Ignition Assembly?" The Honda dealership says $316, is there any cheaper anywhere else.

Honda OEM:

At Majestic Honda, you can buy the ENTIRE distributor for ~$280 (total).

Or you can buy the distributor housing + ICM + O-ring for ~$244 (total).

Is it possible to tell what brand of distributor is on the car without taking it off? I would rather not take the distributor apart considering this car is my daily driver and it is storming outside.

I have the same Civic. It has the TEC distributor -- the one shown in the diagram at the Majestic link.
