Question Distributor problem

Hi there everyone, first time member and first post.
I have a 1999 Honda civic DX 1.6L, I got a new distributor because the ignition coil went out and it was actually cheaper to buy a new distributor than a new ignition coil, anyway, I need to set the timing and I found out that the SCS service connector plug needs to be connected, I've done some research and found out that the plug is supposed to be behind the glove compartment in the passenger side, but here is the problem I have taking off the glove compartment, the trim behind the cigarette lighter and the fuse panel access trim and I can't find it anywhere. Does anybody know where this SCS service connector plug is actually located? It would rally help me a lot.
Thanx.:

It's going to be way over on the side wall of the car, up high near where the carpet ends. There's a big bundle of wires there and the connector is hanging loose from it. Once you know where it is, you don't need to take anything apart to reach it.

And like in this pic, it will be stored in this little green rubber sleeve thing and tucked away back there.

thank you guys for your replies, for the reply from 94civichatchback, I follow your link and in step #3 it shows the jumper is more to the side panel, is that where mine should be? 'cause according to the reply from mk378 he says is going to be way over on the side wall of the car, now, I assume he's talking about the passenger side, am I correct? one more thing, is it safe to think that is going to be in blue color as in the pic from my buddy trust destruction?

Well, I finally found the blue SCS plug, I've used a wire and loop it, started the engine and let it warmed up, plugged in my inductive timing light and proceeded to set the timing but the red timing mark is way, way off. I even tried disconnecting the wire to the blue SCS blue plug and nothing happens, is there something else I'm missing?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
I want to avoid taking it the to shop if possible, i know they'll charge me an arm and a leg just to set the timing.

Here's the official sequence to do. It may make a difference if you don't follow it exactly.

Start the engine normally (plug not jumpered). Let it warm up. Observe that the Check Engine Light is NOT lit.

Turn off the key and jumper the plug. Restart the engine.

The CEL should now be on steady. If it is blinking, there is a trouble code that needs to be resolved first.

Hook up the timing light and adjust the spark timing.

Turn off the key, remove jumper, and the car is ready to drive.

Yes, I noticed when I used the jumper the check engine light would be on as well as the SRS light and when I took the jumper off they were both gone. One quick note, I've used a small wire to jump the SCS Connector is this ok? 'cause I even read somewhere that you can even use a paper clip to do this. just thought I'd ask

As long as the lights come on (and they were out before), you have the jumper in place OK. A paper clip or small wire will work fine, it just need to make contact.
