i got in my first accident today. rear ended a car going 20-35mph. my front bumper is SMASHED and my hood is SMASHED. the frame that my radiator sits against is bent all the way in towards the motor . car did start up after wreck but sounded like crap. did not drive, it was towed away. did not see any sign of leaks. its a 1998 honda civic ex pretty low to the ground. im waiting for my insurence to tell me if its a fix or totaled just wondering what you guys think. sorry no pics. just seeing if anyone has totaled a car this way

 

[edit] Your insurance may total it if it has over 100K miles on it. It's around 11 years old. If the engine didn't sound right, there may be damage to the engine. Fluid could have leaked out somewhere and you might not have seen it. If there is air in the coolant system, an engine will sound pretty odd.

This was my old 2000 DX. Insurance did NOT total it when I wrecked it in 2006. I busted the radiator, core support, hood, bumper, fender, both headlights, and a laundry list of other little things. The header was cracked so I got an o2 sensor CEL , radiator was sitting on the header with a big hole in it.


If we had pics, maybe we could help more. Is there any way you can go to wherever it was towed and snap some pics? Even some cell phone pics would do.
