I have a 2001 Civic and the doors will not lock when the alarm is set ( with clicker).
We have to lock the doors with the key.
This has been an intermittent issue but has now become constant.
Any ideas where to start?

Probably not the battery since it appears that the alarm is setting with the remote.

I was leaning towards the alarm system. Maybe it's somehow failing to send the appropriate command to lock the doors.
What's unusual about this is that it was intermittent. If it just mearly failed then I would have a better idea on what to look for.
Unfortunatly this car belongs to my 18 year old son and I didn't hear about it for a few weeks so I did not get the see the symptoms as they were occuring.
