Default Driver side door lock does not work.

Hi, I just bought a Honda Civic 2001 EX coupe and the drivers side door lock does not work right. Im thinking maybe the motor for it or just something is messed up in there. But I'm not really sure because its my first car. When I hit the remote the passenger door will lock and unlock, when I press the switch inside the passenger one works, I have to manually lock the drivers door. I couldn't figure out how to take the door panel off, Can someone tell me what may be the problem and how to fix it. If it is a motor I'm going to need to buy a new one blaH.

It's most likely a bad lock actuator in the driver's door. You'll need to remove the door panel to replace (see 01 Civic service manual at link in my signature).

Yes most likely the actuator, on my 03 the drivers side went out. I was lucky my warranty covered it. from honda it was a $25 part.
