Default Drivers door wont lock...wtf??

Wassup guys i have a 00 ex 2dr and for some reason i cant lock my drivers door. it has electric door locks, and when i hit the button the passenger side will lock and unlock and the drivers side lock moves but wont full "engage" in the lock position. when i try to push it locked manually it feels like something is keeping it from locking...any ideas? thanks guys

Pull the door panel off and inspect the latch and the lock mechanism.

Default door lock

if you can lock it with your key from the outside then you have to hold the inside door handle out when you try to lock it
from inside the car hold the handle out and either push the lock down or use the power lock button
that should do it
if not then dig into the door panel

if the drivers door is open it will not lock..... only way to lock it with the door open is to pull the door handle and then while holding it open then hit the lock button and it will lock. and then you close the door.

its factory device that prevents you from locking your keys in the car. its not a problem
