Default Drivers side door problem

I've been searching around for a solution to my problem and thinks i've found one but i want to ask here before i do something drastic. I have a 98 civic ex and right now my driver side door will not open from the inside or outside. The locks and power window work, but when i use the handle nothing happens. I've seen solutions where they take the door panel off and fix it that way. But i don't not even see any screws to even begin to unscrew it... also the door won't open so that only complicates things. I was wondering if this is the only solution and also if i do break down and take it into a shop, roughly how much am i looking at spending to fix this latch or whatever it is. Thanks

Donpt know if its the same but my rear door did the same thing. It was on child lock though. Removethe screw in the door handle pull the front outward and slide toward front of car, handle should come out of panel. Pull assembly toward front and door should open. Worked for me hope this helps.
