Default driving problems

ok so this is my problem. i drive my 94 civic sedan. has a jdm d15b swap. and i have a problem while driving. say i put it in 1st then drive, then when it hits about 3-3500 rpm it starts kinda like misfiring and it dosent go faster, after i keep the gas on it, it kinda corrects and keeps going. but i really dont understand why it would do that. this started when my car overheated ( or else i believe it did) one of my hoses got disconnected and i didnt notice i heard the motor acting weird. so i pulled over at a gas station and fixed it, filled it up and kept going. so i dont know if that has to do with it. ive only read when thats a problem it burns the coolant but i dont have that problem. does anyone have any ideas??

maybe you need your coolant flushed, have you ever had that done? It gets all the carbon deposits out.

you say that your hose came of and you realized this after you heard the motor making noises. HMM them you put cold fluid in it, im guessing that you could have warped yopur head some, you could have bent a valve with the over heating, could have made your head gasket blown. check yoour compression , do they all match or is one way way off.

cold fluid?? and if it did warp wouldnt it mess up the gasket as well.wouldnt that be burning my coolant?? and it runs its not like its detonating all the way to work it just kinda misfiring but it dosent do it everytime it does it now and then.

hey i noticed a couple days ago my car was running a little rich and i felt some power loss as well, but it will correct and then a few minutes later maybe bog a little, then correct blah blah. i'm going to clean my air filter out on friday and check it out to see if it helps. but check your wires too, it could be a number of things just start checking things out.
