Default DTC P1705: Manufacturer Controlled Transmission on 2001 Civic coupe

I bought a 2001 Honda Civic coupe from a dealer as is in January. Everything is running fine, recently the check engine light came on. I went to my friend who works at a shop and he checks it with the diagnostic tool and the DTC is P1705, manufacturer controlled transmission. I don't know what is wrong. The car is running fine, no slipping and shift shocks. The only thing I notice is a little bit of noise when I put it to R and the speedometer is kinda slow to adjust to current speed. Have you ever had this problem reading? There hasnt been any recalls on this issue

Thank you for your time

The code indicates a short in the transmission range switch circuit. It's an electrical not mechanical problem. For more details, download the 01-05 Civic service manual at the link in my signature.
