east coast/nj tuner question about swap.
anyone in the east coast or new jersey who knows a guy or has a garage that can help me with my vehicle?
i thought about it hard ... and i've come to a conclusion that im going to try to change my car instead of buying another one.
im planning to either ...
1. change the transmission and have someone fabricate the clutch pedal and stick in the center consol. (if its even possible)
2. an entire engine swap from a d series to a b series.
i doubt places like RS strauss will do that. and none of the shops around here can do it ... they keep telling me something about "its hard and expensive" and the odb2 computer has to be changed.
anyone know a place?
(im looking to spend no more than 2.5k on number 1, and if i must, i'll probably go all out on number 2)

RE: east coast/nj tuner question about swap.
I spent $3,000 on the engine. $250 for manual conversion including parts. $100 for a hasport tranny mount, and $850 for labor on the motor swap. Then I got goodies like a skunk2 intake manifold, new clutch, resurfaced flywheel, header blah blah. I dropped almost $6500 on everything. The shop did a good job. Theyre in Rockaway NJ its called custom car performance. www.customcarperformance.com Talk to rob, tell him Pete with the White GSR Civic recommended them. Theyve got good prices, best I found. Labor for swap is $850 and for the tranny conversion its $250.
