yesterday i was driving to work and my oil light comes on so i stop at a gas station and get a quart of oil and it took it all after i was done with work i was driving home and my oil light comes on and this time is flashing so i slow down and the next thing i know i hear a grinding noise and a pop and the car starts smoking what could have happend my car is old it is a 1994 civic lx automatic with 181 thousand plus miles

Look around and see if you can find if/where the oil is leaking out

nope it wasnt leaking oil right now a mechanics got it but hopefully its not to bad because im low on money

it was the engine it seized up and threw a rod fortunatley its only 2000 dollars

That oil lines comes on, SHUT THE CAR OFF!

You probably had a crack in the oil pan, or someone forgot to put the oil plug back in. You don't just "lose" a full quart of oil. For 2K, time for a new car methinks.

Looks like we speak different languages.

What SovXietDay is saying, and I second him on this, you can buy another 94 lx for $2000, so there is no point in repairing this car, unless you have some sentimental reasons.

And whatever you choose, next time you see oil lamp on with engine running, just shut it off right away and tow the car to mechanic. Would be much cheaper to fix.
