Engine gets hot with a/c on
Ok, after a few other issues came up, I finally got around to checking the thermostat and I think I bled the system. I ran the car with the rad cap off until the fan cycled twice and then I topped the rad off. That's what I found on how to bleed the system. Let me know if there's a better way, because it's still getting hot. Not sure where to go from here......
Yeah, actually I have now found out that it doesn't just get hot with the a/c on. It seems to be when I'm doing around 3000 RPMs or higher. It sometimes drops back to near normal when I'm driving slower at lower RPMs. Turning on the heater helps cool it back down to almost normal too. Not sure what to think though. I've been trying to get more info about the timing belt being off a tooth and what that does. Some say its possible and some say no way it would ever do that(heat up).
Wrong timing, it might heat up more but you also would have a considerable loss of performance. Even with that, the stock cooling system should be able to keep up. I haven't reviewed the whole thread but it sounds like your radiator could be internally clogged, or having the fins corroded and falling off the air side.
