ok just block out the 2 ports inside of the idle control valve?

 

running a risk;
take it off and take a scissors and cut out gasket material that fits the bottom part of the iacv

ok tried close out the iacv but the engine runs very low almost to the point to total shut down

 

the same thing happened to my friends accord.

i just told him to drive home and get the hell out of my drive way.


it went away the next day.

 

same thing happened to me and i just left it...my car kept overheating so i checked the radiator and it was bone dry...put sum liquids in it and it helped a little but then 3 weeks later my distributer went out....got it reaplaced and no more reving up and down

It sounds like it could be the fast idle thermo valve. Take off the pipe that runs from the throttle housing to the air cleaner, you should see 2 holes just before the butterfly, cover up the bottom hole with your finger and see what happens if idle settles down then you need to take off the FITV and clean it (its located at the bottom of the throttle housing).
