I am looking at buying one right now. I'm looking for input from you guys. Pros, Cons, highlights, downfalls, whatever! Its a beautiful car, in perfect condition inside and out, and only has 45000 on the ODO. It is a 2-door 5-speed as well. I'm probably going to pick it up tomorrow, maybe saturday, unless i see too many nay sayers. I know quite a bit about cars in general, but am looking for input from people who have been driving them for a while, this will be my first Honda.

 

you know, ive never heard of any common problems with the 6 gens... DC and I myself have a 6 gen. I think hes gotta '99 2 door, and I gotta converted soccer mom to bad *** '00 4 door. apparently the 6 gens are one of the best made... I could be wrong but thats from what I have read ans seen and heard.

 

yup! I love 6th gens 99-00 civs to me are must have. I can tell u that they are very light and with a bit of power, very quick and ALOT of fun to drive. All civics are tho. Just dont get 7th. EWWWW

 

i got one and i love it. you wont be dissapointed. i would say its the best car i ever owned but i dont want to compare it to a 92 festiva an 88 bonneville, or an 84 tempo. but yeah, its a damn good car

I had a 97 lx 4 dr, and loved it. then traded it for a 00 ex 2dr and love it even more. Get cars and easy to work on. They are very well built cars. Plus parts for civic's are usually cheaper than other '4' cyl. Congrats if you get it.

 

I woulg get the greddy cat back and I ahve a 00 coupe 5 speed. It is an ex so it has the vtec. I love it even though i have some dings on the outside.

 

hello everyone! new to the forum! just got 99 Civic EX and i love it! i got the 4DR sedan AT for my daily commute to work and family car. (wife and 2yr old daughter). i'm planning to upgrade my rims to the SI's.

i have a 96 ex the only thing i could think of is if you pull up to the light and the person next to you wants to go please please try your best not to get your *** handed to you.

in essence choose your battles wisely till you get some upgrades or FI or something
