Followup to 96 civic EX keyless entry
I have an aftermarket CD player on my civic. I bought the car used and it did not come with the keyless entry fob. The FCC id of my radio is A269ZUA102.
My question is do I need to have the stock radio hooked up permanently to make the fob work or do I just need it for programming. A few guys on the forum said that the FCC id of my radio should match the fcc id of the fob. But I was not able to find one on ebay. The last digit of the fobs on ebay was 1. I'll probably buy it from the dealer for $80.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
