Default Headlights flicker

My headlights flash when i start my 93 dx for about two minutes until the car seems to charge and then they are solid. Why are they flashing. I dont think its the alternator because it was replaced a few months ago and the car runs and starts fine except one time when it wouldn't start right after i had turned it off.

Is the check engine light (CEL) ON?

Make sure the battery is fully charged and that the connectors and terminals are clean and making good electrical contact.

If these items are fine, then the alternator is the main suspect. Make sure the belt is tight and that the alternator electrical connections are properly seated and not corroded. Otherwise, you may need to replace the alternator. It's not uncommon for rebuilt alternators to have a relatively short life span.
