Are you overfilling the tank with gas? Have you tried to locate a gas leak? Have you inspected hoses of the EVAP system?

Its usually the gasket at the top of your tank around your fuel pump and it will seep out and you will smell it coming up through your back seats.

I have a 1996 Ford Ranger that has a fuel smell after I fill it up.

From all the research I did it seems that the culprit could be the rubber filler tube from the fill inlet to the tank.

I've bought a new one and will install it soon to see if that is the problem.

Yeah, I did nothing (I assume he is suggesting that he didn't overfill). On the tank leaks... the tank is good, there aren't any leaks coming from it. Hoses are good. I have a bad gasket somewhere maybe, I don't know.
