Hello, I have a Honda civic and I accidently put in orange coolant in there for a day. I was told not to put the orange one in there so I flushed that out and put in the green coolant. I flushed everything out but I believe it might have some left over orange coolant but not alot. Will it harm anything if the green coolant is mixed with a little bit of orange coolant?

 

If you have "flushed" it out properly, there wouldn't be any coolant left in the system. When you "flush" the system, you keep adding water and draining the system at the same time, until it runs clear at the drain.

I think you need to give us a bit more info and tell us how you flushed your system.

 

Yeah, remember a flushing includes the drain plugs on the engine block. You probably did that but a lot of people forget so I figured I'd remind you just in case. What's the difference between orange and green coolant?

 

i think this calls for a DIY on flushing and adding new coolent ( what kind to add too)..that would be great

 

There is no difference in the colors. They make it orange or green so you know what it is when it leaks out and (as strange as it may seem) so no one will drink it.

 

There are different types of coolants. There's one type that GM was putting into their vehicles and it was eating the gaskets. That's why a lot of the GM 3.4L engines had leaks at around 100k km.

Just don't run orange coolant in your system. Most newer J-bodies have their head gaskets replaced at 70K because of orange coolant.
