Default grinding, metal on metal, only during sharpest turn

hi there
i'm trying to track down this grinding noise on my 89 Civic hatch
sharpest right turn = grinding noise from the passenger front wheel
sharpest left turn = less grinding noise from same wheel

i can take turns normally in my car with no grinding, but if i'm parking, it seems like the car is almost turning tooo sharply???

it's definitely metal on metal sound.

stock ride height, new balljoints, newer cv boots, new tie rod ends, new brakes...

any clue anyone?

It's likely the inner lip on your aftermarket rotors that are rubbing against the metal sheild on the knuckle. OR, corrosion has pushed the metal shield into your rotor. See, when you turn, the hub/bearing actually flexes a little with respect to the knuckle.

The rubbing usually occurs at the bottom of the sheild/rotor. Kinda hard to see without removing the rotor.

Shield helps keep water off the rotors, without it you're more likely to have loss of brake performance in the rain.

I wouldn't remove the sheild. Will let all sorts of crap get up in there.
