gsr into del sol
yea thats what he told me 300..and im like WHAT!?...i asked millage and year and whatnot but he didnt know anything about it..he was going to look at it tonight so we will see...he said some girl he works with boy friend bought the motor to put it in a car..when he got one..he never got one so he is selling it..i was like if its a "good" motor u could make more money than that on it..but ill keep u updated on what happens
i just talked to him and he said he is going tomorrow...one of our buddys told him if he gives him the motor he will do the sols manny conversion for free (so costing my friend 300)..but i told him what u guys said and he dosnt know if he wants to give it away now...the guy who is selling it said he knows someone that will put it in the sol for 1500 so it would be 1800 all together...my friend said he is gunna think about it but what do u guys think?
Well, $1800 is still amazingly cheap for a GSR swap (a little over half of what the actual engine/tranny/ECU packages go for), ESPECIALLY including installation (although $1,500 in labor is way too much...)
1500 is a rip. the most expensive shop in town here, they are one of the top race car builders in the us (import cars, and i dont mean drag cars.) would do mine for a grand. and i have seen them done for under 300 bucks.
u think he shoudl swap it for a manny conversion?...i think his original plan after body work because the work that the previous owner did was horrendous was to build and boost his sohc..and if he trades it for the manny conversion thats a right now GET-R-DONE type thing but is he puts the gsr in he has to wait to find a good shop and save the extra cash...but he needs more opionions so thanks..i knew i could count on my HCF buddys to help him out..lol.
