H22 a issues
I have a 2001 H22 A engine and previously spun the thrust washers.
it gouged the lower bearing assembly and I am trying to figure out the most reasonable option to repair or replace. can the engine be re line bored with a new crank and bnearing assembly. when I see used jdm engines they all say they are around 50,000 to 60,000 miles. when they post pictures it clearly shows engines with a leot of road build up and I think they are lying.
does honda sell a h22a short block ?
I would appreciate a heads up from someone who knows thier honda's
Thanks,
Dave C

I am sure you can order one from Honda but expect to pay an insane amount for an H22a4 bottom end.
At the least, you are looking at tearing down the motor and replacing the bearings. I sure the crank will need to be taken to a shop for polishing/inspection.
Honestly, at the price H22's go now, it would probably be best to pick up a new motor, pull the one you have in and install that. I have seen numerous H22 motors (w/o transmissions) go for around $650 in my area. Once the old motor is out, you can either rebuild it to factory and sell it, or build it up for power, or junk the bottom end and keep the head as a spare or sell it.
Stick around... we need more H22 swapped Civics in here you would be the third including myself and 1armed1.
