Default Halogens & HID

Does anyone have specs on the power usage of the headlight system on a 2K8 Honda Civic Hybrid and HIDs with 4300K? I'm wanting to compare because the electrical system on a hybrid is different and just want to make sure it's not overwhelmed by the 4300. Thanks.

It should use the same wattage. Its the ballast that boosts that power up to that level

well dont have the specs. BUT HIDs will pull some juice to fire the bulbs up BUT after they fire up initialy they are suposed to use less power than standard bulbs. so i dont see any problem with them in a hybrid.

How long typically and how much would HIDs with 4300 pull "juice" for? Do all HID bulbs use the same power of 35W compared to stock 55W?

The color temperature of the bulb is just the color of light that it makes. They're all 35 watt bulbs so they all use the same amount of current. I think it would work fine. The stock halogen bulbs are about 55 watts, so you're using less power once they are warmed up. Unless the startup surge is enough to blow the fuse, which would also be a problem with non-hybrid cars, it's going to work.

You are correct and i understand that stocks are at 55 vs. HIDs at 35, but it's that initial surge I'm concerned with. I just want to know how much that initial surge actually is.
