Default Hard starting 98 Civic EX

My 98 Civic has been starting hard lately.Basically,it turns over an unusually long time before finally firing. It seems as though the lower my gas tank is,the more it does this.Could it be the fuel pump? And if so,where is it on my Civic and how difficult a job?Any other thoughts?

PLEASE PEOPLE, try to use the Search feature when asking a general question like this.

It IS common for honda's to do that when the gas tank is low.

Thanks and sorry about that.I did a search but,I wasn't typing in the right criteria.Once I typed in "low on fuel",I got results and I believe, some answers.Something I didn't mention when I described the symtoms I'm experiencing is,every once in a great while, the car will start immediately but, then kill after firing on only a couple of cylinders. Then too,it is very difficult to start ...almost as if it is flooded.Tried a search on this also.Maybe I'm not asking the right question? Thanks again
