Default hatchback wont start

my friend and i put a d15b1 in my 93 hatchback to replace the d15b7 that i broke the camshaft and gouged the head on (dont ask lol). dropped it in, replaced the injectors and it started right up, we decided to check the compression just to be safe, compression was good, put everything back in and now it wont start...
my friend says its the distributor but i dont see how that would have messed up...?

Cranking the engine with the plug wires disconnected can blow the coil. Those coils don't like to fire into an open circuit. (To run a compression test, you should unplug the low-voltage supply plugs to the distributor, so the coil doesn't try to fire. Or ground out all the spark plug wires. Or jump the starter so the engine turns with the key OFF.)

See if you have spark now, if not, replace coil.
