First determine if it is the gauge, or the sending unit in the tank. Take the back seat out and remove the access panel so you can get to the wires at the gas tank. Unplug the gauge plug (the one that does NOT go to the plate with the fuel lines on it) and turn the key on; gauge should read empty. Then jumper between the wires in the plug and the gauge should go to full. If those tests work the problem is the sending unit.

Well i just put that cluster in there, the guy i bought the car off of put a automatic cluster in the car which is a five speed. so i bought a used stock cluster and i might have bumped the needle cause it just reads full and i was wondering if i could just push the needle down to see if it will "reset" itself.

hi there wondering if you can help. im new to having a civic type-r. i have a few questions for you. 1. i have an 02 civic type-r and my friends has an 02 civic type-r white jap import. i believe his has 20 more bhp than mine. do you know why it has more? and if so what can i do to upgrade my engine to make it faster but also keeping the engine safe.

and number 2. my v-tec kicks in at 6000rpm is there anyway of making it lower in the rpm to get more out of my car?

Make sure the needle is not dragging on the dial surface or touching the clear plastic front cover. I would not push the needle around manually. You can take clusters apart and swap out just the fuel gauge (may be combined with the temperature gauge in some types) if they are the same type.
