Is there any way to test a head if its good or not? i think my motor is going. i cant find my compresion tester so i took a wire off each cyclender to see if i had a week one and it bogged down each time i took one off. i was thinking maybe my head gasket has a flow leak of anitfreeze, but i havent gotten that far yet. my head ticks but not that bad yet. so i thought maybe a valve was sticking but i dont know how to check that. i have another head but i dont know if its any good or not. any help?

 

Adjust the valves. Some "ticking" is normal. A compression test a simple way to judge the overall condition of the engine.

Running the engine with a spark wire disconnected can blow the coil. It is safer to unplug the fuel injectors one at a time to test for dead cylinders. This can be done at idle.
