Default Head and speakers

I work at Best Buy and we get killer deals on stereo equipment, and i just bought a pioneer DEH-P5800MP head unit and 4- 6 1/2 in Alpine Type-S speakers. (doors and deck) and I wired in the 2 insignia twelves that i had in the car already. The head is rated at 50 watt RMS x4 and all the speakers are 50 watt rms, 250 peak power. but for some reason the front ones work great whenn the fade is set all the way forward, but when i try to fade to the back all four speakers start crackling. I know they arent blown bc the front ones work fine by themselves. what would cause them to do that. When i fade all the way to the rear, they still sound horrible but its not as bad.

yep, sounds like somethings reversed somewhere. if a speaker is connected reverse of another, they cancel eachother out pretty much, make a crap sound.

I would just run new wires if possible, sounds like you have a real mess there. Besides, running new wires to rears should be total cake. Maybe you should stop by the install bay at work and have an installer check your work for ya. (have the deck popped loose for him, so its not a pain in the ****) Good Luck!

i pulled the deck back out today and i found something interesting.... the person who had it before me had soldered a second left/right rca into the rear speaker wires. i cut them ;out and it fixed it. why would someone do that? The guy i bought the car from had had 2 10' subs in the rear whith the stock head unit, but i thought he had used a converter or something.
