HEEEEEELLLLPPPP!!!! Bad gas mileage and No Power.
Ok, about 2 weeks ago my civic (1.5 non Vtec)was overheating and I got that issue fixed, but now after fixing that its running horribly... 3/4th of the time under normal acceleration it is slow. it sounds as its reving up but not much, it takes forever to get going, Butonce in a blue moon when i throw it to the floor it bearly hesitates, kicks down and starts going normally. (but never from a dead stop)Ive changed the plugs, the wires, and even cut the cat off.I changed the oilmaybe 3-4 weeks ago, its not smoking that ive ever noticed, and there are no check engine light on, So I doubt its an O2 sensor. Maybe the fuel filter? I dunno? Please help, cause its a 4cyl. And i can put 10 in gas and that puts me to half a tank and after about 4-6 miles its on E again? BAAAHHHH this is gettin old, Anyone to help will be greatly appriciated. Thanks.
Have youchecked thedistributor? That does sound like it might be a bad o2 sensor, sometimes they don't throw a code. Do you ever use fuel injector cleaner or seafoam?
Do you usually fill up the tank halfway? You could have condensation built upin your tank if you don't fill up your car all the way that often. Try this stuff called Isoheat, works great for that. Good luck.

yea usually I my girlfriend is the one that drives it and she never fills it up all the way like normally half a tank. Maybe an o2, how many o2 sensor does a 95 1.5 non vtec have? and what might be the most likely one??? Anyone else got any ideas everything will be appriciated?!?!?! wanna try and get this fixed fast cause its killin my wallet... thanks
I believe there is just one on yours right befor the cat/converter. Not 100% on the location, but your car is obd1 so it only has one. I would hold off on the o2 sensor untill all the other possibilities are out of the way cause they are expensive. you can get Bosch ones from auto zone for less than the replacements at the stealership but I think they are around $100 each.
It dont have a leak, I mean it just has lost all power but every now and then it will go but thats likea once a day thing. I dunno injectors, carbon build-up, fuel filter? Something. Its getting really irritating though?!

In terms of low power, you also may want to consider a faulty fuel pump, a clogged fuel filter or air filter, bad fuel injectors, or a throttle cable out of adjustment.
ok another thing that i noticed was that you can (and it is an automatic) start in first and drive and go though the gears as if it was an manual and for the most part it has no problems what so ever.??? this is becoming a realPITA lol... any suggestions?
