HELP!! 01 CIVIC CRUISE CONRTOL PROBLEMS
I do alot of road travel within 350-500 miles of my home weekly. Today as I was going down the freeway, my cruise just quit. This has happened before (intermittened) and aftera small waitIhave beenable to turn the controlbutton bymy left knee under dash on and off and it worked ok. Today though it quit for good. I have done a lot of fuse checking, and the owners manual says nothing about any CC fuses. Does anyone out there know if there is actually a fuse, or if there is a reset that I am missing? I am trying to save some money by having the local mechanic charge me $60 an hour to figure out what the problem is. This cruise came with car, original equipment.
If anyone has any good self help I need it. It is an 01 Civic 2 dr coup.
Thanks,

Thanks,
My cruise control did a similiar thing (intermittently shutting itself down)when my DRL (Daytime Running Lights) system was acting up. Turns out the electrical noise generated by the DRL Relay which was reacting to bad solder joints in the DRL Module caused my Cruise Controller to intermittently take a break. In hind sight it was also related to going over a road surface that caused chassis/frame high frequency vibration which caused these bad solder joints to act up. See a previous post by Civic2001 on this DRL subject if you think this might be related to your problem
We have an 02 CR-V also, the other day comming back from a 150 mile trip our cruise tapped out in the middle of the highway, about 70 miles into the trip. Of course I got a cussing from the little lady "you always break everything!!!"
Anyway after I reminded her she had a 2 year warranty she settled down, and after a stop at a gas station about 30 miles up the road, we turned the car back on, got on the highway and it was working again. I am wondering if this is a common issue.
Whats even funnier *my word* is that on the climate pannel, one of the lights that backlites the gauges has been out since we bought the car, and when the cruise died, I looked over, and that light was on, lol.. But after we restarted it was off again, strange.
I am planning on taking it into the shop to have it looked over, considering its a warranty deal, whenever I get around to it I will post if i get some information on my problem.

Ya know what?? I wonder if there are any recalls on this problem. A lot of the roads I travel are bumpy. They are very level gravel, but it may be something that the dealership has addressed. Hopefully my self, or someone can come up with a solve on this one so a lot of us can save a few bucks having a mechanic telling us something we may already know.
Please let me know if any of you get wind opf anything, and email me through the contact info.
Thanks for the input. I will keep checking back to see if there is any other inputs.

Come to find out, there is no fuse for those that thought they knew the answers
. I took it to a mechanic, and found out that this cruise part is at a $500 cost from dealer only. The mechanic was able to get the mechanism out and look inside of it. It was the circuit board, and he said it was green from corrosion.
They were able to clean it off, and it only cost $35 to have it done. This is unlike any system I have delt with. Glad I took the time to have it checked and fixed.
I would guess with 89,000 the next item I will look at is getting the plugs replaced at about 100,000.
