Default Help - 1998 Honda Civic, Automatic transmission swap-M4VA for S4PA is it possible?

Hi All,
i wonder if somebody knows the answer to this,

is it possible to swap an automatic transmission ,code M4VA, for an automatic transmission ,code S4PA will it bolt up ????
The engine code in my car is D15B, the other car i don't know.

The S4PA transmission is taken of a 1998 Honda Civic 1.5 Automatic as well.

My car details are as follows:

1998 Honda Civic Ferio, 1.5 Automatic/Multimatic Saloon.

Thank you

D series to D series should bolt up fine. As far as I know, any D series transmission 1988-2000 will work.

Hi WellFedHobo,

sorry again, I'm just courious,
i was reading that there is a diference betwen the M4Va & S4PA , please see bellow:

S4PA, S4MA 4-speed automatic with electronic control

M4VA Constantly Variable Transmission (CVT)

even if it will bolt's, do you think that this diference would be an issue?

Thank you again, I realy apreciate your comments.

Oh, that might change the game. CVT is different from a 4 speed auto. I'm not sure.

"Continuously Variable Transmissions have a low gear ratio and a high gear ratio with infinitely many ratios in-between. The advantage of a CVT is the ability to keep the engine RPM in it's optimum power output range for all operating conditions."

possiably electronicly(sp?) controled? Would that not work without and ECU swap?

Default M4VA & S4PA Pics

Hi Guys,
These are pics of the two Transmission types.Help - 1998 Honda Civic, Automatic transmission swap-M4VA for S4PA is it possible?-s4pa.jpg

The two of them look completly different, and I'm not expert at all, but by looks, i don't think the S4PA will fit or bolt up instead of the
M4PA unfortunately.
