I bought a 96 Civic last year and my buddy that I bought it from dropped in a 96 D15B Non-Vtec Motor.
I noticed that all the people I asked said that it should rev up to 7100 Rpm, but mine revved up to 6250rpm, I thought it was still the stock ECU and it wasn't swapped out with the motor
I opened the ECU compartment and it was a P2E ecu
does anybody know what ECU goes with this motor (D15B non-Vtec)??

i was looking at the engine list in the forum an i saw this:

D15B(JDM) SOHC VTEC 92-00 Civic 130hp(Can be noted by black valve cover like the USDM 92-95 D16Z6 ex/si engines)
D15B(JDM) SOHC 3-Stage VTEC 92-00 Civic 130hp(Can be noted by 96-00 style usdm D series style grey valve cover and has 2 vtec selinoids)
D15B/1/2/7 1.5L SOHC non-VTEC '88-'95 Civic's 62-102hp

i cant find a 96 non vtec. its shows 88-95 d15b but u said it wasnon vtec which these are.
the other d15b's are vtec i assume. sorry. im still learning lol

was it from a honda civic vti 96?

 

exactly what car did he get it from? was it a 1996 honda civic dx? i think thats a d15b non vtec
