HELP: Having Troubles Installing My BNIB HID Kit
Hello everyone,
Me and a friend of mine have been having BIG troubles trying to install my HID kit in my car. We are SO close to completing the project, but we are confused about the final steps. You see, the HID lights I bought have BOTH high beam and low beam lights in one. There are two separate wires for the high beam and low beam lights. What we want to know is where are the wires that toggles the high beam and low beam lights to turn on so we can connect them directly to each of the wires on the bulb.
My friend drew a descriptive diagram of what we want

Here is my kit

I should also mention that the instructions that came with the kit were some of the worst instructions I've ever read in my life. The English was terrible and instructions themselves were very vague and illustrations did not help that much either.
Thanks.

It will depend on whether your car originally had four headlight bulbs (two on each side) or two (one dual-filament bulb on each side).
The two-light system should interface directly. There are three wires to the plug for each stock bulb: high, low, and ground. Connect the high wire to the high beam HID plus, low wire to low beam plus, and both HID minus wires to the ground wire or ground them directly to the car.
A four-light system will have two bulbs with two wires to each. The problem here is that the low bulb stays on when the high is activated. Many times burning both HIDs at once like that will overheat them. So you may need a relay to cut off the low beam bulb when you switch to bright. This would be a normally closed relay. The stock wires for the low bulb (toward the outside of the car) go to the low HID thru the contacts of the relay. The stock wires for the high bulb go to the high HID and also to the coil of the relay. When you turn the brights on, the relay will pull in and cut out the low HID. I would use one relay per side so there is still redundancy in case something breaks you're not totally in the dark. If it is OK to burn both HIDs at once, simply connect them to the stock wires and you don't need a relay.
Also there should be no need to run new wires to the battery, power the HIDs off of the wires that used to run the stock halogen lights.
Either way check with a voltmeter before connecting any wires to make sure you have the polarity correct. You may also want to temporarily connect the new lights directly to a battery to test that they will work the way you expect them to.

Thank you very much for the detailed response. I have talked to my friend about what you wrote, and we agreed to connect the origional wires up to the ballasts. That seems like the most simple way to do it.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
Thanks guys, we got them on but now we have another problem. [sm=smiley21.gif]
We hooked up the HID low beam wire onto the origional low beam wires, and the low beams dont turn on. You have you turn it on hi beam to make any light come out, then after a while when i go back to low beam, it just gets stuck on the highs, and stays the same.Does anyone know why this is?
Thanks

no no .. there should be three connectors one from the ballast, and two from the bulb, the black is the common ground, and goes on the right side of the connector, the yellow should be by itself coming from the bulb, and that goes on the left of the connector, and the other should be a green color i do believe( it is on mine) should go in the top connection and everything should work
