Help with honda civic 1995

Default Help with honda civic 1995

after i put in a single cam vtec head my car wont start but it will crank....so i ask my bro what wrong with it he say mayb the timing belt so i try to adjust the timing after i try a couple time the crankshaft lock up so i really need help

take the belt back off see if the top and bottom end move freely,re align the timing marks put belt back on,check for spark.go back and start over see every thing that you did and double check

When the engine rotates with the timing belt on wrong, the pistons will crash into the valves. This can possibly cause internal damage. You should check the compression to make sure the valves are OK.

After head replacement (assuming the new head is good), failure to start is usually because something is plugged in wrong, especially having the spark plug wires in the wrong order. It is also possible (though not always easy) to engage the distributor shaft 180 degrees out of time. While you have the engine set to TDC to check the timing belt, take off the distributor cap and confirm the rotor points to wire #1 (leading to the plug farthest from the distributor). The wires go 1-3-4-2 clockwise around the distributor.

YouTube the first thing I look..I follow the video and line all the mark but still won't start just crank...and how come the crankshaft lock up after a ht of turning and how do I unlock it

ok let start over so my brother took a vtec head from a d16z6 and put it on the d15b engin and it dont start..i check the distributor and i plug the wire in like mk378 says.. #1 on bottom and so on.and about the timing i dont know if i line it up with the mark on the 7 o clock or the back cover
