Default Help installing airbag!

Hello, my Honda civic 97 got stolen and I recovered it, but they stole the drivers’ side airbag, now I got another one but I need know if I just plug it in or I need to do something else. The car was hit in the front end, but passenger’s side airbag it’s intact, so that means the airbags were not deployed right? Please some advice will be appreciated thank you.

You need to call a body shop (or three) to find out what their procedure is. There are independent companies that will test the conections to make sure everything will work in case of an accident. This way if someone hits you, your not betting your life on if the install was done correctly.
Cheers,

Thank you for your advice, I'm just going to plug it in and reset the light, and I also will stay out of the way in case that goes off, hope not but just to be careful. By the way I paid only $60 dollars for it on a online auction, pretty good deal huh! But they sale for about $200 each used. Dealers sell them for a lot of more.

Seriously I would have it tested somehow. YOu don't want to kill your girl or whoever because you installed it wrong. A life isn't worth the however much it is to check. Also don't forget that no airbag is also an option, especially passenger side. You can do more damage with one installed improperly then none.

It worked just fine, after I installed and reset it, the light went off as normal, I don’t think I installed it wrong.

I've heard of people stuffing airbags with garbage and such to save money.

yeah, but those few bucks you saved could turn into thousands spent when you endup in the hospital becasue you didn't spend the extra 50 bucks to save your life! not to mention the fact that you can be sued when your best freinds parents find out. your best friends it dead because of YOU!
