Default Help me brainstorm please.

hello all,
I have a 8th gen. I recently replaced the starter and battery. More recently I have noted a very specific pattern. When I go to start my car, all electrons function normal, then absolitlg no click to even try and start. It sounds as if my battery were completely dead and nothing was even trying. After attempting to start i no longer hear the bing from my in the ignition. Then I will get out and pop the hood. May battery reads fully charged and i wiggle my negative connection and hear my.key binging again and try again. Sometimes it starts right up and others I have to repeatedly get out and wiggle my negative connection. The connections have been freshly changed at the bettery level but the wires are still old. Could this be a short in the ground? Any other suggestions?

its possible for the cables to deteriorate internally causing those exact symptoms. also any sort of corrosion between the terminals and the battery posts can cause that problem. to answer your specific question yes a bad ground can also cause similar problems. i suggest cleaning all connections including the grounds even if you think the connection looks clean and go from there.
