i am new to owning a car and i found that i didnt have a belt on my power steering pump and idk if it fell off b/c the power steering pump is broken or it was just loose
i went to spin the pulley to the power steering pump and it will spin freely one way but it locks up when i spin it the other way and idk if it is suppose to do that because i dont want to put a belt on a broken pump for it the just rip the new belt off

 

If it had a belt, it would turn counterclockwise looking at the pulley. Is that the direction it spins freely?

 

no it locks up if i try to spin it that way so does this mean i need to get a whole new power steering pump or is there a part i can replace in the pump so i can try to save some money
