Default Help with throttle body plz!

Hey guys, I have a 99 civic SI. My TPS went bad so I have to get a new throttle body and really dont feel like shelling out goddamn $600 for a new one. I am assuming that the Skunk 2's do NOT come with a new TPS. So basically I am wondering if I were to go to a junk yard, would I need to find a TB from a 99 SI or would other models TBs fit mine? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

most hondas use the same tps. because your sensor went bad doesn't necessitate a new throttle body..... look on ebay for a blox TPS, they are like $20. they fit all manner of honda from like 88-2001

well i thought of that but i dont have any tools with me here in the city and no one wants to just replace the sensor cuz they all say its too big of a pain in the *** because you have to align it just right and have to do cutting and **** to get the sensor out.

im pretty sure i could actually put in the sensor on my own, it would be a pain in the ***, but like i said i dont have anything here to do it and i dont plan on going home for a very long time and am sick of my car eating up gas and running like ***. i found an edelbrock performance tb with sensor for close to 400..... sucks my ***, but its better than the 600 that honda was going to charge for an OEM

um.... you'd pay maybe 50$ in labor MAX to have the old sensor removed and a new one put on and adjusted. you could do it your self with a hack saw blade and a flat head screw driver bit and a ratchet with a socket that the bit fits into. even if you are afraid to attempt to adjust it, you could install it and take it to a shop and have them do it for a couple bucks. even if you dropped 200-600 for a new throttle body, they dont have sensors installed (both the OEM and skunk2 come without sensors) so your plan to drop an extra 150-550 dollars for a bit less work doesn't work out in this case.

oh wow... thanx alot rex, you prolly just saved me an *** load of money. i searched the forums and the ones i read the people said what honda says, you must replace entire throttle body so i was beginning to doubt the fact of replacing JUST the tps... im ordering a new TPS off of ebay RIGHT NOW! now the real trick is finding a decent fukking mechanic in this town that will do it and not *** rape me. ill probably just do it my damn self.
