Default Hesitation at takeoff

I'm happy to find this forum! I was googling my issue and came across it.

I recently bought a 2004 Civic, with the automatic transmission. It has a tendency to hesitate on takeoff, particularly in the morning and I think it may be worse the colder it is. I need to do a better job of documenting it, obviously. When I take my foot off the accelerator to brake or stop, and then accelerate again, there seems to be a lag where it feels like there is no power, then it "catches" and off I go. This may be a perfectly normal thing that Civics do, but it is somewhat annoying and I worry that it could be a developing problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

eta: Car has 67,000 miles - a bit high for the average 2004, I know.

Is the pedal hard to push, if so check out this thread https://www.hondacivicforum.com/m_329731/tm.htm , altho your car seems a bit too new for a streched throttle cable.
