Default HID

What's up everyone, newbie here. I just got a 2K8 Civic Hybrid and have enjoyed my ride so far but am not impressed with headlights which are horrific. I'm thinking of changing to HID, but I wanted to get your guys opinion.

1. Should I do it since the electrical wiring is different than a regular civic?
2. How much power, in voltage and watts, does a HID system require?
3. Honda wants to sell me an aftermarket kit but if I buy one online, what should I look for it to have?
4. Are HID kits easy to install?
5. What are the different HID types? I've seen some cars have a bright white or a blueish-white projection.

Thanks to all.

1-yes you should do it
2-i've read that hids uses less power than standard halogen
3-you should try oznium.com very good site from what i hear
4-yes they're very easy to install or you u could also find how-to's online if you have some issues
5-well idk how to explain this but they have this color chart on the website. i've also read the higher output you will some trouble seeing when raining or your eyes will hurt after awhile so some ppl usually get like 6k or 8k good luck

oznium doesnt sell hid kits anymore but some sponsors for this site have them. They are all pretty much plug and play you cant really mess up too much. And the colors are 4k is yellow, 6k is white, 8k is white with blueish, 10k is blue, and 14k is purple. Now the thing is the higher k you go, the worse the light output gets.(so 4k or 6k being the brightest)

Well, I've been reading up on HIDs and have come to realize they're illegal. I'm still debating on what to do since in Texas, they've been handing out tickets left and right.

1. What type of bulb should be used to avoid any ticket attention and would "look" similar to stock if I am pulled over?
2. Does a higher K require more power consumption, I drive a hybrid and am worried about any electrical malfunction?

if you want to stick with a stock looks STAY LOW AS HELL... around the 4K range its more of a yellow/white color. 6Ks is still alittle white with a slight blue tint, 8Ks are usualy more blue, and 10Ks start to go purple....

keep it close to yellow/white or white/blue color. and be sure to adjust the headlights aim down to prevent alittle glare for other drivers! because there will be glare if you put them in stock headlight housings! only way to not have glare is to do a RETRO FIT which means cuting up your headlights and fiting in OEM HID projectors into yours. problem with that is IT AINT CHEAP and thats just for the parts!

and with any HIDs.... REMEMBER MOST THE TIME you get what you pay for! if you cheap out on ebay dont be shocked when the bulbs blow or the ballats burn out really quickly!

What type of range is seen on the lexus? Yellow/White wouldn't look clean, but would you take 4K over 6K? What is the distance between the OEM projector and the bulb? Most kits don't sell the OEM projector, where I could buy one or two? Have you heard of mobilehid.com? I'm trying to stay away from ebay, any good/reputable sellers?

Check the place that Oznium links, they seem pretty legit. I'd go with the 6000k, they would probably be the most stock and legit looking as you're going to get (In my opinion), i'd like to have 8000k, but I know i'd get pulled over on the spot.

Do plug n play kits come with OEM projectors or do I need to buy that separately? Who sells OEM projectors for HID kits? What are benefits of retrofit?
