Default Hissing Power Steering pump

So I was fillin' my battery up with some water today cause it had some dry cells in it and I heard a hissing noise coming from somewhere near the front of the engine bay. After bobbing my head around thinking I had a potential vacuum leak, the sound seems like it's coming from my power steering pump. I looked around but couldn't see any fluid leaking at all. When I turn the wheel, the pump makes a slightly louder hissing noise. My fluid level looked good but god knows when the last time it was changed.

Is this a normal sound for a honda steering pump? If not, are there any specific diagnostic steps I can take to determine if its busted? My steering seems fine and appears to act normally. I'd just rather fix the issue, if there is one, before it becomes more critical.

I have never noticed the noise before is why I'm a little concerned. Additionally, when my car is warm and idling I can turn the steering wheel and have the engine bog and raise the RPMs up to compensate; I figure that's normal operation but I figured I'd mention it.

Thanks guys
