Default Honda Civic 00' CD player problem (stock)

I rencently bought a 2000 Honda DX hatchback and the double deck single disc player doesn't connect to the radio or accept cd's.
It reads "Code E" probably meaning code error? The guys at the small broker told me that you suppose to put in a "code" using the numbered buttons and my code was written on the packet.
But personally I don't know whats wrong with it. There is obviouslly power, but does anyone know what to do to make it work?
I might probably have to bring it into the dealer to have them look at it , ugh.

Thanks.

Okay, so it reads "Code E" and they told me "oh someone must have tried to put in the password to many times let it wait for 2 hours and it will reset it self and you can put in the code and it should just work" But its been awhile and it still reads "Code E" even when I turn it on/off.
I tried putting in the code but its not working, and its not making a different screen reading other than "code e".
They said this is an antitheft thing and the code makes it work, so if you dont know it, you can't steal and use it. But in my case its annoying.

i probably should not have been the one to respond - but i thought that someone would come along that would want to know the answer.
not too much into the stereos, cd, etc.

I figured out the problem.

You have to disconnect then reconnect the battery, then the stereo allows to you have another 3 tries to enter the code.
