This might not help, but alot of times when its cold, the Laser that reads the information on the disc often causes the disc to warm up, which when cold, causes condensation on the clear cover of the cd.
If you pull the discs out, and press them up against your chest, covering them with your hand until their temp runs up a little, the lense cover won't fog up so much, and thus will not skip, or refuse to play the cd.
Like i said, I encounter that problem alot, and it may not be the issue your facing. You could just have a dirty lense cover, which they sell cd's to clean. They probably don't work very well, I have tried them, but they are better then nothing.
