Orite i bought this 99' honda civic just the other day off this guy he said he was on the freeway and the car just turn off , 5 mintues later he turn it on but it was sputtering then turn off and then he waited for alil bit then turn it back on then sputter for a 1 minute then off.. After that it didnt want to turn back on. (he said) now am here wondering where to start. It has power because the lights in the dash turns on but everytime i turn the key lights dim and makes a wierd sound not from engine but its inside also he must of ran it without oil because i check the dip stick and no oil..... Any suggestion

 

With the key off and the transmission in neutral, try to turn the engine by hand with a socket wrench on the bolt in the center of pulley at the bottom. If it won't turn, the engine is seized and needs to be replaced. If the engine does turn, put some oil in and charge up the battery.
