Hood release lever
#2
It should not be hard. You replace the whole assembly of the lever and the cable. Much like the radio antenna, you'd disconnect the cable at the hood latch and then use it or a string to pull the new cable through the bodywork. The important thing is to do it while you're still able to open the hood.

Its real easy to do. Just make sure you dont pull your old one out first... If i remember right you will have to pull out some of the push pins on the drivers inner fender to get to the cable. Just tape the new cable to the old one on the inside of the car and get ahold of the old one under the fender and pull it threw. Be sure not to kink the new cable. It should take maybe 30-45 minutes to do if that.
