Hi, please someone help me, i was on my way to a cruise today, and my car started making a horrible screeching noise coming from the rear hubs/brakes area!
i got out and checked my rear brake pads to make sure it wasn't metal on metal but the pads were fine.
it happened just after taking a corner pretty fast...
and the noise gets worse when i apply the brakes, i cant really drive the car because the noise is soooo loud! has anyone had this problem? or has anyone got any ideas on what it could be?

 

im not really sure but you might have messed up your springs maybe...try postin this in the suspension,brake,wheel&tire forum im sure youll get a good answer there

 

I think your bearings are worn out. You better get that checked qwick because if those wheels lock up.... god help you.

 

did u take the actually caliper off to see if the pads are just worn? If theyre worn real bad theyll actualy eat into the rotor......ive done it before its loud as ****.

 

Ive had a mechanic look at the car, and it was the calipers locked up
i need new calipers, pads and hoses and its not cheap[:@]

Does it sound like your dragging a metal fence under your car???? cuz I took a sharp turn a few month ago and i started hearing sum kinda of sound that sounded like if i were dragging a metal fence under my car. I went out and check under my car and i didn't see anything so i just continue driving it and eventually i hear this noise that sound like sum one throwing a a brick in your trunk and the fence dragging noise went away.

Anyone know what might be the problem??? could it be the same as Jippo???

haha, yeah thats what happened to me.
I caned it round a corner, and yes it started sounding like i was dragging a fence under my car, lol
but no brickes in the boot sound, apparently seized brake calipers are common on EG civics

 

you should be able to rebuild them for cheaper if you can't find any at a good price
