it could help...but i would just to a fuel system treatment...and a intake and exhaust...make the engine breath better, and it will get better gas millage...plus it will sound better...
also, did you do your 100K tune up? are your plugs and wires old...all of those can help your millage.

It sounds like you're getting great mileage for an Si already. You'd probably see a better increase in mileage without losing performance by shaving weight and drag. Good luck with experimenting though.

According to the 2008 fuel economy stardard for your car, you should be getting 33 MPG or so. You might want to share how you are getting 40 MPG. I think 50 MPG might be a stretch. Keep us posted on your changes. Show us your logbook so the rest of us can see your mileage.

i don't have any logs, i just use my trip meter and fill it every time and check it. i've even gotton 45mpg. i just shift at 2k rpms, slow early, and drive as slow as possible. if driving like most speed deamons i get around 34. i'm thinking with a smaller cam and ecu to match i should get 50+mpg easy?

That seems a little over obsessive to me.... why don't you just buy a mopad or a bike if you want better than 40 mpg? I know gas prices suck but I would cut expenses elsewhere, that doesn't sound too fun or enjoyable.
